Just seen it. It is truly excellent, a must-see.
It does a very good job at demonstrating how war is too complex for the actors to grasp every aspects of it, and that mistakes are inevitable. The amount of information to process, the stress on the decision-makers are unbelievable. It makes it very hard to criticize them, because what seems obvious with hindsight today was so muddled back then that no one could have made all the right decisions, all the time. It's crazy how rational individuals can be misled into taking the wrong actions by the confusion of wartime. It is also quite appropriate in these times of conflict to ponder on such questions.
