Hey,

I'm recently collecting some equipment of the First Gulf War, the desert 6 colors BDU and so on and so on...
What I would like to know is if knee pads were issued to the army back then and if yes, which?

Thank you in advanced!

US kneepads are a very recent thing, mid-1990's unless you wanna count the experimental 1950's stuff.

Even in the 90's, were they subdued or just the black pads?

AFAIK black.

In Somalia they had knee pads, so it's possible that SF dudes might have had COTS (Commerciaal of the self) kneepads in the Gulf War.

even in the somalia only the delta force had knee pads, the rangers didn't, some rangers bought knee pads on their own.
