Weapons and their Accessories

I'm not really of a weapons guy, I just look at pictures of soldiers (mainly US/Special Forces) with their weapons and all of their accessories on them and go "Wow, that's cool!" So I was wondering, where and/or how do they get all of these accessories? Do they go to an equipment dealer on base and buy those accessories or something like that?

Also, if they wanted to, could they get different types of body armor, weapons (m468/416, etc), etc?

Most likely issued. Or given the choice between multiple options.. if that doesnt satisfy them they would probably buy whatever they need privately
