Now that they have the Abrams, are the Aussies planning on selling their Leopard-1 tanks or are they going to put them in long term storage, or use them as range targets?

Very nice, thanks!
Maybe you Australians might be willing to consider some SEP or TUSK upgrades?

Are they planning to get more M-1s anytime soon.

Don't think so, They don't need anymore, its not like Australia is ever gonna be invade by a foreign country :P
58 M1A1AIM+ is enough I reckon, considering they are fairly close spec with the M1A2 SEP.

I've been eager to see what an Aussie Abram would look like :D Nice to see they look damn awesome, now I want to see them up close.
They are pretty cool. The Hercules is much more impressive piece of machine than the M1s based on size and brute capability!
Maybe get a ROBC slot next year. :)

I hope they are keeping a few for museums and such?

Of course, after finding out how hard it was to track down tanks from WW1 and WW2 they made a note to save a few tanks for museums, a couple of years ago I was lucky enough to get a tour of the warehouses in Canberra where they keep alot of tanks, other vehicles and weapons. Seeing a V2 Rocket up close was definately something to remember.
Thats the first up north. Had one at Pucka last year.

Interesting to see the red kangaroo, on the assembly line they had either black or OD roos, numbers, etc
