While driving to work today the "top" news item on the radio was an alleged checkpoint incident where US troops fired on a vehicle filled with civilians. Upon getting home, and checking the latest news on the Net I've come across no such story. Did it happen? Or is this more anti-US propoganda?

Actually, this was on Foxnews. There are different views on what happened. A journalist said that there were civilians in the Car, while the Marine Commander said that the car fired on them after driving through a checkpoint.

Thanks... so the "incident" did actually happen. Its just that, as always, there are conflicting versions of the details....

As an aside, one thing I did notice while I was operational in South Africa.... the few times an incident made it into the press, I had to read it 3 or 4 times to decide whether they were talking about the same thing I lived through.... we had a seriously pro-government press at the time :)
