Tangodown did a few modified vertical grip for one of our nation's top spec ops group that require a low drag setup. This modification became the Tangodown stubby. The stubby has a special role in the AK arena. Being the way the magazine are loaded, a rock and lock insertion usually makes the vertical grip an impossible concept. Krebs made an off sit grip that worked well, but if you want a in line grip, you are out of luck unless you mount the grip further out toward the muzzle, and sometimes, that is not as well liked by many.
This is the new TangoDown Stubby grip mounted to my AK74. being the 74 did not have a radical curve as the 47, the stubby did not make as much of a difference compare to the standard VFG setup, but you can definitely see this set up working like a champ on a 47 sytle rifle.
