What's the difference between GSG-9 and KSK? Police/military? Please advise.

GSG-9 is the Federal Border Guard (National Police, I believe) while the KSK is German Army. GSG-9 deals with domestic terrorism (first dedicated CT unit in the world), and KSK is military special operations.

Obviously I'm not from the US, but my comparision for the US to Germany would be roughly along the lines of:

SEK - Local Police SWAT
GSG-9 - FBI HRT (for domestic gigs)
KSK - Special Operations Forces with a CT capability (take your pic of Delta/SEALs etc for overseas CT/HR gigs)

Actually, this pic is indeed from GSG9. I have a serie of pictures from them training with a bundesgrenzschutz helicopter, and they are all wearing those green POLIZEI bands.
And if you have ever seen those old pics from GSG9/italian NOCS cross training, they were also wearing small POLIZEI patches. Finaly, look at the 4th and 5th pics of this thread, they are wearing POLIZEI arm bands too ;)

Guess it must be easier to read and faster to understand than "Bundesgrenzschutz". All that the bad guys need to know is that the POLIZEI is here.

And about the helmet: it's "Sumpfmüster"-camouflage, also known as BGS-Tarn. Back in the days the German military and police were reprimanded because they were using Splintertarn Camo, and it reminded people too much of the Nazi-era. So, they switched to standard green fatigues. Bundesgrenzschütz wanted to stress their independence and identity, and they adopted the new BGS-tarn. GSG9 has long used BGS-tarn covers on their helmets, to stress that they were Border Police.

Today, black or flecktarn covers are used.

There is a pic with GSG-9 near mercedes. I suppose those are their armoured modified mercedes used by them, possibly Devgru (In ROGUE WARRIOR), and GIGN. Correct me if I am wrong. ;)

The helmet shown in this picture is the Ulbrichts Witwe AM 95.

The picture probably is taken during the 50-Year-birthday-party of the Grenzschutzpräsidium West, Sankt Augustin, where the GSG9 also is based.
