I'll tell you what Shrek.. Some of those pics of Afghanistan's landscape are stunning. If there wasn't a war going on, I would love to go for hiking and such.. Do you think that things are getting better there? I'd love to go there for a day.

Funny, cause we would sit on those mountains and say that if this place was different it would be a hikers paradise. There are many 14's (mountains) which everyone in the western US covet and miles upon miles of trail. Then we would always add, "of course there's the landmines"! That kind of changed things!

Venture160:

I got permission from my unit to share my photos as long as there were NO opsec vioaltions involving unit location or specific dates and what not. More importantly is the permission from the guys in the pics. We all agreed that we would just be super careful with each others images. I was apprehensive about releasing that IED video until it was on the news in my city and is now on the Tactical to Practical show. Which, BTW, is on at 11:00 CST Sunday and they will have a longer version of the IED that hit my teams vehicles and what not. I will record it if I can!! Later

glad you like the pics, posting more today!!

Sorry Devgru, things are probably getting somewhat better especially around the larger cities. However, I think it will take decades for the outlying counties to recover. They're all glad for the most part that the Taliban is gone, they just have to find a way to replace that income and rule!

Hiking got old real quick at altitude with equipment.. it made for great views though.
