They sent them there to begin with! Politics at its worst. They oppose it now for the reason that the Conservatives are very much for it.

I thought they were against it in the first place but did it as a political move to improve relations with the US.
I guess it doesnt really matter because either way their spineless

That was part of it, but they made sure that the contingent was part of the NATO operation.
I've heard that Chretien had DND prepare a plan for participating in Iraq but waited until the last second with his finger in the wind to decide whether to trigger it or not, deciding not to based on opinion polls.

It would be a huge blow if the Canadians pulled out of A-stan.
They are certainly doing a lot of work there and unless other countries increased their commitments, then this would be a huge win for the Taliban.

Yet another reason I won't be voting for them. That and Dion couldn't lead a group of pedophiles to a daycare.

Dion was at a fund raising event the other day and was spotted eating a hot dog with a knife and fork...

Dion is probably using A-stan as a rallying point for the Liberals. There is so much in fighting in the party, people want Dion out. The Liberal party had more support without a leader, which says alot about him. He is trying to prove his leadership ability which he does not have, nor ever will. Lets hope the people give Harper a majority, so he can really have the ability to produce some results, and not have his hands tied. If John Tory and Harper win in the next couple of months, I will be a happy man.

I must say Harper has been a real surprise. A very pleasant one. Dion is a typical university intellectual, who lives in that world of unreality intellectuals inhabit where they can say just about anything because they are just "words that hang in the air" with no consequence.
