As I've understood the current Portugese helmet is indeed the US made PASGT helmet and before that they had a US M1 metal helmet in use.

Who knows, maybe the M1 is still in use on training purposes or something...

The M1 is only used in basic training.... :)

It really looks like the IDF infantry helmet. Don't Portuguese marines also use israeli Galil rifles?

Yes, the Paratroopers use the Galil. The standard infantry weapon is the H&K G3, but that's about to change.
