No such gun, all SU-16s are 5.56! Mine has been 100% from day one, its accurate, reliable and very very light. Ignore the bipod, add a muzzle device of your choosing and start hunting down AR mags.
The Keltec mags are a little iffy, but otherwise it rocks.

crazy guns.never really liked the look of kel-tecs except for the plr16 and the new PF9. they got that .308 bull-pup comin out. dirt cheap concealed carry guns though, their pistols anyways..still ugly as all hell.
a plr16 would be cool to have. loud mof*ckers though.

I saw one shot like 1000 rds in one day class.. it started to jam in the end but during day, when most of the rounds were being fired, the gun was flewless.

SU-16's come with a list of "do-it yourself" improvements on various gun boards - most of the operational issues can be solved by swapping problematic parts with AR parts... Some guns sent back to KelTec would actually come back with AR parts installed - most notably, the extractor parts...
"Worth it" is purely personal opinion - they are accurate, upgradeable and indeed one of the few Cali-legal alternative .223 semi-auto rifles... That said, they are rather costly at most Californian gun shops - I did not find them "worthy" of their price tag. 700+ out the door, for a gun I'd have to toss magazines out and replace factory parts - certainly, not an AR "alternative" per say.

$525 is not bad...
Of course it'll be $525 + $45 tax + $25 Dros + $7 for a lock if you don't have a vault safe... + AR-15 10 rounder mags + extractor claw and other parts - you could easily pay over $650 out the door p-)

Mine was $450 + other fees.
It's accurate enough, 1.5" at 100 yd.... It's actually a better design then AR, it does not have gas/gun powder blow back in to the action and does not get as dirty because of that.
Its one of those guns you can modify non stop, I'm still not finished with mine.
Before.

And I've done several other things to it after this picture was taken.
Great little gun, worth every penny IMO.
