If you had a choice for a camo pattern to use in combat, what would you pick? I have looked at some of the threads with the issues on the ACU pattern, and I am just curious to see everyone's personal oppinion.

In case people are not familiar with SOPAT (since I haven't seen it being discussed a lot), here is a link...

It depends upon the mission, terrain, vegetation etc. I admit to a preference for Rhodesian!

To not include dpm is a crime.
cadpat or flecktarn (which doesn't seem to be an option?)

overwhites for snow camouflage
solid OD or heeres-splittermuster 31 for naval environment
flecktarn for woodland
sumpftarn 44 or coyote brown for desert environment...
all either in ACU cut for use with body armor, or in m65 cut for use without.

I would personally pick SOPAT...The crye precision multicam has been denied by the Army (as far as I know), but I have "heard" that SOPAT has been looked at (and possibly be pursued) by the Special Forces. If you look at Hyperstealth's website, you have got to admit...there is a lot of different terrain types to pick from!
My oppinion is either Multicam or SOPAT, or possibly Marpat.

Excellent choice. If not that, a solid color like the old SADF uniform, or Israel.

What's disturbing is that someone actually voted for ACU/UCP. Probably a traffic cop in need of high visibility.

Don't ask me for the designation - I don't know it. I'm sure an Austrian member can help there... Or a 'gear-nut'.

Tan, and a bunch of cans of spraypaint. That way you ca kinda fit into most anything.
If not, vodka in large quantities.

Non DPM camo, either West German/Austrian
Myself, I love the WW2 German cammos what the FJ's/SS used. Just if they could be made in ripstop BDU material.

I'm partial to the flecktarn family - Waffen SS "oak-leaf," German flecktarn, Danish M84, Austrian, and Russian "partizan" patterns. I also like the German BGS and splinter patterns. We're going to try out Flecktarn in our Louisiana "mixed-wood forest" and see how well it works for us. (as in, we've spent hundreds of $ getting several of us outfitted in fleck for airsoft...and aren't properly equipped yet!)
In DPM, I think I'd take Dutch over Brit.

I would have to go with Swedish M90 to. And that comes from a Norwegian! Looks very agressive and seems to be very effective as well.
