Use pouches like Tactical Tailor, Patriot Performance Materials, and others that use the patented Malice Clips. They are the fastest to weave through the PALS webbing. The snap/button clips on Eagle Industries, BHI, Diamondback Tactical are the toughest because of their bulk and texture.
Pliers might damage the clips.

I've never found MOLLE pouches to be so difficult to attach that I needed some kind of tool. Plus, you shouldn't have to do it very often, unless you have OCD...

Take the armor out of your carrier and things out of your pouches. It should make it easier to bend the webbing.

Fastest and easiest by far of any system for MOLLE out there. Makes it easy to mount, dismount, reconfigure. Very slick.

Buy TAG gear and you don't have to worry about it. They have straps sewn on, and they tuck up in behind themselves.
No Malice clips and no thick buttons to screw around with.

I'm not sure how you're threading, but at the start I would slowly thread the strap through one webbing then try to get the end of the strap through the pouch webbing only pulling enough of the strap through to get to the next webbing.
I found it was much easier to thread the whole strap through a webbing. As the strap is pulled all the way through and longer, it is easier to bend and get through the pouch webbing and so on.
I'm not sure if I explained that clearly, but moral is, pull the whole strap through one webbing before trying to get to the next webbing.
I found just doing that chopped my threading time down by almost half.

^^ good points ^^
its just a practice thing.. and needle nose pliers if your over itp-)
the more you do it the easier it becomes. i have used alot of SORD pouches, the "batons"( the long bits of that you thread through the webbing straps on the back of the pouch, and the webbing straps on the platform- your rig) are usually tough at first, but soften up over time and are easier to use.
SORD pouches have velcro fasteners, which work really well.
also try putting all the batons through the webbing strap at the same time, rather than individually,
i.e: all the batons through the first webbing stap on the platform, then
all the batons through the webbing strap on the pouch..
hate to sound condesending, sorry if it does..

That's true, they have a very good simple system.

I never ready had a lot of problems with the MOLLE, it is a pretty simple way to attach pouches.
sometime it depends on the vest you are attaching the pouches to. I have found some manufactures make the PALS webbing too tight, in this case, you usually have use a little force or a small needle nose piler to help get it started, but once you get it going, it is usually pretty easy.
