View Full Version : Growing up

I just finished reading the locked threads. Damn good thing I wasn't around today, I would have gotten involved too.
This section used to be free of the crap that plagues the rest of the Forum, both from what I've observed as a lurker and an active poster and from what older members have said. A major reason why I limit myself almost entirely to this section is because of the lack of pissing contests that happen every other thread elsewhere.
You boys make me sick, you really do. I need not name anyone, because all of you know who you are. Arguing in the "My Weekend" thread was fine - at least it was contained - until you escalated it into an actual invitation to meet and fight. That's just letting your testosterone levels get out of control. Still, it was borderline okay, because it was kept to one thread.
Then the dispute was moved to a new thread, and then another one, and finally a third. This may sound absurd coming from an admitted over-poster, but that's just ridiculous. Post-whoring is one thing, but thread-spamming is something else entirely. There's no need of it. Put a stop to it.
Also, in reference to the nature of some comments to the few female members of this Forum - grow up or shut up. We're here because we enjoy posting here, and the last thing we want to see is some hard-charger spouting off disrepectful remarks and comments. It's uncalled for. Even though I myself was not the target of such comments this time around, I expect an apology from the member responsible. Simple as that.
Finally, a warning - I will request this thread be locked immediately if anyone attempts to continue whatever dispute is going on. I don't have a problem with hijacking someone's thread, as long as it does not dissolve into a virtual fistfight as happened in the thread I mentioned above. I've had it with the constant ****-swinging that has been going on. I will do my best to remain neutral, but I will not hesitate to intervene if necessary.
I'm going out for a run now, and I hope to see a public apology posted here when I get back.

Their immaturity and ignorance is well-noted. Once they realize what they are doing, they will stop.

Fintin, thanks for your apology. I can't speak for anyone else, but I accept it.
However, I have yet to see the apology from the member to whom I was referring in my original post. It's becoming clear that he is only "man" enough to respond to flames, not a demand for a public apology.
Hey, Jack, let me know if you're in the area sometime. We can go running.

For once, no. He knows who he is, or he should.

To everybody on this board. I just want to apologize to the members of the forum. I let some comments get under my skin, and I started some threads that I regret starting. It won't happen again.
I would also like to take this time to politely ask RA, that if he doesnt want to argue with me that if he would please refrain from responding to my threads. I do not want to be a contributor to the downfall of this site anymore.
I am asking for the forgivness of the "respected" users of this forum, for i am truly dissappointed in some of the actions i have taken today.
Cheers

that's not a real good way to say that. it kind of makes you sound.....i don't know....pompous maybe, not sure if that's the right way to describe that. maybe just should have asked? i don't know.

I really don't care how it makes me sound. I have no skill at beating around the bush when it comes to requesting and/or demanding apologies from other people. If it comes across as too straightforward, then so be it. I don't care.

I've lost count of how many times that and other things have been said to me. It stopped bothering me personally years ago - way back when I was a freshman, actually.
