well, since i couldn't find a specific thread to ask on, i'll ask here, hoping i'm not in violation of a forum rule.

so can a moderator tell me why was my thread (of 5 minutes ago) deleted? the one about the indirect-fire support question.

what forum regulation did i break or deviate from...so that i won't do it again...

thank you.

well it might have something to do with requesting sensitive information in that is need to know, and frankly you Don't need to know.

is that so? is that a real thought-through answer?

i followed the advice of the last user that posted, and googled it...
(i'm not even going to go ask you....)

Did it work?

yes it did. The US Army was gentle enough to place it (or allowed to be placed) on the internet.

I could now give the answer....even if i have a small dificulty in understanding american terms. Perhaps someone, with experience (emphasizing that!), could shed some light on it.

I wounder what would happen if i had asked a question about something on a STANAG?? ....

Still i ask: what was so wrong with my post that it should be deleted, and so efficiently quick?

I don't know. I wasn't here. But I'm pretty sure you should tighten up.

I deleted it because (regardless of whether it's already out on the net) that is exactly the kind of information that shouldn't be available to everyone. It can be used against American soldiers and our allies, and, as I still play a somewhat active role in security/defense/etc., it's something I take personally.

It wasn't personal towards you, but please think first in the future and consider who else might be able to use information that you are requesting.

i respect that, and i won't argue. I share the same responsibilities.

But i have a different view regarding that specific info i was requesting: it was on a very generalized basis, although perhaps using acronyms of your army was not the best idea, but i was hoping someone could help me with it (and understand exactly what was asked about).

since movie clips, diagrams, photos, explanations are -on this forum- posted on really somewhat sensible intel, and because the US ground operations structure is huge, it wouldn't hurt any and all interests or comprimise military operations. I wouldn't even think of doing that.

i was just asking for shared knowledge.

now that i understand that you see it diferently, my question is awnsered.

Thank you and sory for the inconvenience.

Your remark doesn't deserve a comment.

If all in agreement, the thread could be closed and deleted.
