Yea... just noticed after hitting the button. On the first look the helmets looked like kinda a MICH-style-helmet or something to me...
Then i recognized the plane and youre right. Probably just normal Fallschirmjaeger :cantbeli:

The 'chutes are French(ARZ EFA 697/696 and ARZ EFA 511 reserves),not sure about the helmets.I think these troops are part of the Multi-National brigade.

The German flag on their uniforms suggests to me they are German. :)

Could be. I jumped with an English chute and vice-versa the English with ours during a joint training excercise (Dragon something or other) in North Carolina... perhaps the French and Germans do the same and exchanged chutes for the jump.
Any Bundis out there know?

Soldiers are from the Fallschirmjägerbataillon 263 (Or 261 ? I am not completely sure.) of the Luftlandebrigade 26.
Picture is actually taken in Gabun, Africa (Neighbour country of Congo.) where they jumped together with troops from France and Gabun at the end of 2006.

Thats the "Sprunggefechtshelm" of german para units
I can't remember where I found this picture but I believe this is actually a prototype of the future German Army helmet.

This helmet is Schuberth Helmet model 828. Helmet for land troops has number (type) 826. This type 828 was designed specially for paratrooper few years ago. German M 828 is very similar to Sestan Bush BK-4 and to Polish BK-4M(PIORUN II), but it has some differences.

In my days (1988/89) there existed an annual franco-german airborne combat manouvre, "COLIBRI", one year in France, next year in Germany, with the guest nation recieving the host nation´s jump wings. (In 1989, when I was there, it took place in Germany - no french wings for me... :-().
On the german side, it used to be LLBrig 25 participating; since this brigade was disbanded (and thus becoming the nucleus for KSK), Colibri today is operated by LLBrig 26, AFAIK.

In my opinion this type of helmet is the first type because it has chinstrap like in type 826 (box type). Many copies of this helmet I saw with chinstrap like canadian(CG 634) and danish (M92) helmets. It is the second type.
