Arn't they called TAR-21?
Sirpad
06-30-2003, 10:52 AM
This is not the TAR-21. The TAR, known better as "Tavor", is the new israely assault rifle.
The gun in the pics is the new chinese rifle, Type 95. It has both regular and marksman versions.

The regular version, scope attached

Nice Tank shot. Tracks tearing up the Streets indicate a special occasion - driving towards another massacre perhaps? I doubt that treading head-on toward a civilian bus within a city while making a mess of things is a usual occurnce...
It's hard to forget the images of the Massacre in Tiananmen Square, June 9th, 1989.

Why our guys (Hong Kongers) are opposing him.....
Remember that Mr Tung Chee Hwa is a two-term ELECTED Chief Executive for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region by the people themselves. He represents the people of HK to the Central People's Government. The people of HK will only oppose him if he rubber stamps the central regieme's aims of totalitarian control over the freedom loving people of HK.
How can he do his job well without the public's support............
His term will end without re-election or even re-call if he doesn't have the public's support. HK will loose their Special Administrative Region status with initiation of draconian communist laws that would negate even calling it SAR in the first place and will lead to more interference from Beijing in Hong Kong's affairs.

Khm... not exactly, he was (s)elected by 800-member election committee, not "the people themselves". And HK people also wants democratic Legislative Council (now it have 60 seats: 30 indirectly elected by functional constituencies, 24 elected by popular vote , and 6 elected by election committee).

Any Chinese here had been to a military school? I had been to 黃埔軍校(陸軍軍官軍校).
黃埔軍校 is not called 陸軍軍官軍校 but 陸軍軍官學校, it locates in Tiwan, kaohsiung.
陸軍軍官學校 is called " Chinese Military Academy ", and 陸軍軍官軍校 is also called 陸軍官校.
Most of my high school classmates graduate from 陸軍官校 on July 12 this year and soon will serve in R.O.C Army as a second lieutenant, by the way, you had been to 陸軍官校? When? Why? and How?
I and my high school classmates graduated from a military high school (prepartory school) called "中正國防幹部預備學校-中正預校C.C.P.S", futhermore, we distribute not merely in Army, but Navy, Air Force, Marine and MP as well. As to me, now I am still in academy(not the 陸軍官校 but the 政治作戰學校-政戰學校 Fu Hsing Hang College, FHK College-Political Warefare School) for plentiful reasons, no matter how, I'm glad to be a college student especially in the department of political science, international affairs.

Ideological differences have made lots of conflicts not only between Taiwan and Mainland China but all over the world such as North and South Korea or so on. There are plentiful conflicts and wars in human history, of course, China is no exception, too. There are too many disasters happened in China, the suffering land. We Chinese have suffered too much and too long. For example, how many people are there in China(or Taiwan, even Hong Kong) remember a significant day, July 7?
July 7, 1937, Japanese troops had entirely invaded, however, nowadays how many people have remembered this great day and this great battle, the great battle against the Japanese Empire, the great battle about the whole nation's existence? I don't think there are not a lot of people will remember this day, even I myself also forgot this important day. Owing to being a soldier I have a duty to be loyal to my goverment, both you and I just follow the policy they(politicians or ditactors such like Mao or Jung)have made, because we don't have choice at all......................hope someday China will reunify and there will no more sufferings.

Alfred, I do agree with you that there are so few pepole in China still remeber the 7.7 accident. Whatsoever, from the pictures I have post, you could easily guess I am one of the minority. Indeed, me and my friends are trying to reproduce some Chinese WW2 uniform in memory for this part of our history. Sadly, since we are not in taiwan, we are having a lot of difficulties due to the lack of information about these uniforms.
Talking about unification of China, I think this could only be done peacefully if Mainland China give up their "one party' policy and let KMT or even taiwanese "green party' to have their voice in Beijing (i.e. be the ruling party). An American alike China (with humble foreign policy) is the dream which i wish to come trun in my life. Having said that, I do agree the 'one party' system is preferable in mainland China a this moment for its stability and steady development, and I do not think the suggestion I have given above could be done within 15 to 30 years, but lets work hard to achieve that.

Chinese Troops wearing exported M35 Helmets: Manchuria, 1935
This rare photo shows Chinese troops wearing two of the many exported M35 helmets that first came into production when the model was first introduced. In order to equip their army to fight the Japanese, the Chinese government imported military goods from many nations. The newly designed M35 helmet from Germany was one of the many items the Chinese used during their struggle against Japan.
