France ultimately scrapped that agreement several years later under the weight of enormous United States diplomatic pressure for it to cease its nuclear cooperation with Israel.

lets not forget the stuff the UK sold to the Israelis as a result of "clerical error".
I don't get it why Haaretz is writing about this as if this is some shocking revelation. It was known that the French had good ties with Israel and even helped with Demona power plant at that time. Once the French had different ineterest in the Middle East, especially after they were done with Algeria, the they no longer found it in their interest to be partners with Israel.

As opposed to wing-nut ynetnews, a FOX clone on crack.
Is there anything objective that comes out of the Middle East?

actually, Ynet (aka "Yediot Aharonot" - meaning "last news") is prettey main stream, and is the best selling newspaper in Israel.
"Maariv" is considered more "right wing" and is second in sales.
Haaretz is becoming less of a news paper and more of an opinion paper for the extreme left wing, where quite a few of its writers hold extreme anti-Israeli opinions.
Compared to other mass circulation papers printed in Israel, especially Maariv and Yedioth Ahronoth, Haaretz is geared to more sophisticated readers. The headlines and print are smaller, less space is devoted to pictures, and the articles are longer and more analytical. Apart from the news, Haaretz publishes feature articles on social and environmental issues, as well as book reviews, investigative reporting and political commmentary.
...
Haaretz strongly supported the Oslo Accords with the PLO, but the op-ed pages of the paper are open to a wide variety of political opinions.

the real right-wing papers are Israel National news (http://www.israelnationalnews.com/), Hatsofe (http://www.hazofe.co.il/), and others...

^^ Jpost is pretty right-wing too
How do you tell if Haaretz is left or JPost is right? I never see Haaretz say something anti-Israel.
