IRAN: Sending a Nuke to America

April 30, 2004: Despite promises to halt nuclear weapons development, Iran's Islamic conservatives are moving ahead secretly, attempting to develop a working nuclear bomb as quickly as possible. With what is now known of Pakistani weapons experts secretly selling nuclear weapons technology to countries like Iran, it's quite possible that Iran will have an atomic bomb within a year, if not a few months. It is not known which atomic bomb designs Pakistan sold to Iran, but it was probably the more primitive ones. That means a rather large and bulky nuclear bomb. This would not be suitable for use on a long range missile, but could be carried by an aircraft, or put in a shipping container. Millions of these seagoing shipping containers enter the United States each year. And Iranian Islamic conservatives still consider America the "Great Satan."

While much of the world's attention has been focused on Sunni Moslem terrorists, we forget that there is a separate group of Shia Moslem terrorists operating as well. Because of the ancient hostility between Shia and Sunni (it's a theology and ethnic thing, as most Shia are Iranians, who are not Arabs, but an Indo-European people), the larger number of al Qaeda terrorists have grabbed all the headlines for the last three years. There are still plenty of Shia terrorists out there, but most of them are in Lebanon, where most belong to the Hizbollah organization. Hizbollah has been observing a truce of sorts along the Lebanese border with Israel. However, time has caught up with most of the Shia firebrands of the late '70s and early '80s. The original ones, that are still alive, are middle aged and somewhat mellowed. Those in Iran have their hands full dealing with the majority of Iranians who no longer believe in the revolution. In Lebanon, there is also local politics to deal with, mainly in the form of many Lebanese who no longer want to play host to Iranian terrorists. But the Islamic conservative leadership in Iran, who still have veto power over the government, access to billions in cash, and control of the armed forces, still believe in exporting the (Shia) Islamic Revolution. It's an export that no one wants, and the Sunni Moslems will actively resist. But there's always the "Great Satan." Sending a nuclear weapon to the United States, and

F**k those Iran sh*t !

Can you post the WHOLE article (it ends on 'and') and a link please?

Oh, saying
And Iranian Islamic conservatives still consider America the "Great Satan." Shows obvious bias by the writer, so I dont particually believe it anyway.

Iran on Sunday denied that it has secret parallel nuclear program aiming to produce atomic weapons, as claimed by the main Iranian armed opposition group.
"In order for the hypocrites to continue their existence they have to fabricate news for their master the United States and Westerners", Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said, using Tehran's name for the People's Mujahedeen, in his weekly press conference.

The Mujahedeen-dominated National Council of Resistance of Iran said last week that Tehran is rushing to complete a first nuclear bomb in "between one and two years."

It said the drive is being pursued by a special military unit of 400 experts and researchers working secretly outside the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization and under the personal supervision of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khamenei, Iran's supreme ruler.

In a recent report, the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency said parts of Iran's nuclear program are under military control.

The Islamic republic has persistently denied ever having a nuclear weapons program and says its facilities and programs are used only for the generation of electricity and are peaceful.

Where does it say ANYTHING about Iran sending a nuke to America? They are not dumb enough to do such a thing. And if its true, the Isamist Extremest are the ones. Before the Iranian Revolution, Iran had no problem with anyone. Now the Ayatollah's are brainwashing and all this islamist bull****, ah makes me angry.

I don't know anything about this particular article. However, it IS worth noting that in the past year...

1) A student movement for democracy was put down with lethal force.

2) President Khatami (a major liberalizing force in the country) pretty much lost his power struggle with the conservative cleric class, headed by Khameini (not to be confused with Khomeini).

3) Iran was very hesitant to accept any aid from the USA after the earthquake in Bam, and out-and-out refused an offer of aid from Israel.

also, if this fool is trying to make all shia out to be badguys, he should look to bahrain. They are a majority shia country, but they base the US 5th fleet, centcom naval HQ and other US facilities

Amusing that Iran with one primative bomb is dangerous because they don't like the US. Wonder how they feel about being compared to the WWII axis leaders and being labelled a rogue state by a country with thousands of nukes that are not only modern but are actually able to be launched at Iran at a moments notice.

Perhaps if the CIA stopped interferring in Iranian politics then the Iranians might not dislike Americans so much. I am sure in 50 years or so they could forget the oppressive Shah the CIA installed to power there...
