I have searched the forums but didnt find much.

Was wondering if someone could confirm for me the model name of the current USMC/US Army feild phone used in small squads. NOT THE VEHICLE PHONES OR HQ SYSTEMS, THE FEILD KIT.

Same as this:

Any help would be grately appreciated

There is no field phone in that picture. The Marine is talking into a radio headset, most likely VHF.

Furthermore most man-pack radios are exactly the same as the radios used in the vehicles and CPs but just a battery powed varient ( and usualy not amplified and therefore restricted in range ).

Sorry buddy, but the only thing that I see in that picture is H-250 handset attached to a radio, I can't see the radio model so I can't tell you, maybe is a PRC-68. I'm not sure maybe is something newer like a satcom radio.

The last field phone that I used was the TA-1042A/U wich is a Digital Non Secure Voice Terminal (DNVT) know as a digital field phone .

I hope this helps.

If you look, you'll see that the antenna is coming from his web gear IN FRONT. That means its more than likely an AN/PRC-148 MBITR. Marine team leaders and officers often put those into pouches on their web gear.

There is NO field phone.

The Marine with the man-pack more than likely has a PRC-119 based on the antenna.

Tristar, if your interested in military tactical comm's then have a look here;

and

If your just looking for the handset it's an H250/U. I use one on my AN/PRC 117 all the time.

Really restricted for dismounted infantry in Iraq.. I had trouble communicating with my squad leaders because of interference from powerlines and other obstacles.

Is the TA-312 still in use? I miss shocking people with the buzzer.
