I was just surfing and came upon these pics from "The War and Peace" show in Kent, England. I'd love to have my own tank that would be awsome.

Something I never thought about... how much to rent a HET?

If you ever have to give civvies rides on your tank it's really not bad duty. Especially if the one on the far left wants some. Remember in some cases you're required to share the hatch for safety reasons.

I go to this show EVERY year, I live near the place it's held. It's absolutely GREAT! The Tiger is built on T34 chassis, it and a sister tank are the ones from Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Pretty much all the German re-enactors are veterans of those productions. Last year they even produced MP44's and started spraying blanks all over the shop.

Amphibious Sherman?
Yes, it's a BARV (Beach Area Recovery Vehicle), I think. Although, It was more for cleaning out beaches of stranded LCTs and other stuff...than recover them...

I'm still amazed. Next year why don't they do the show in Fallujah? Iraqi's might reconsider everything if they thought we all had two cars and a tank ...or two tanks and a car.

I guess it would be in bad taste to point out that if these MP's wanted me to get naked I wouldn't consider that torture.

There have also been Tiger replicas made out of T55 chassis'. One magazine that gives good coverage of all British shows and the different conversions and actual vehicles is a British magazine called International Military Machines. I highy recommend this magazine for anyone who likes military hardware.

The weapons on the tanks are most likely deactivated. If they aren't they are held on a section 5 license.
