Other than the M9 bayonet and pig stabber (clasp knife), both of which I carried, does anyone actually use any of these of knives in the "army".
Sure some may have the looks. but practicality wise....
Edit: I also carry a locking blade Victorinox "Hercules" in my pocket. And a machete when issued, though I never used it.
I also carried my leatherman PST II for a while. But I was disappointed with it, as it was ****e to rusting, bad scissors and had sharp edges which stripped screws. Not to mention the joints which loosened by itself.

I use mine for survival training......I carry all but the newer looking one on the left. I sent that to my pal in the UK..The big one on the right is a Spec Plus Marine Raider..Great choping knife for building projects.. The Multitool is made by SOG and the Swiss Army knife is a Mountaineer Model..The Tan sheath is one put out by Spec-Ops..Good sheath.

My Kbar is my best blade and I have had it for about 10 years now and I have used it in many countries in Europe and the US.

Stabbing pigs....
East Scout sums it up. Used for ropes etc. But I've never used it for that purpose. Coming to think of it, I've never used my clasp knife. It was hoochie corded to the back pouch of my webbing. I only carried it 'cause it was issued, and so that I could present it if they did a kit check. (which they tended to do in training establishments).

So thats a UK MOD issue knife? I thought it looked a lot like my 1950 brit pocket knife..even had the srew driver on the front of the body like the old one I had..

Probably the same thing. I have an issue clasp knife that is the exact same design as the knife with the marlin spike we are talking about.
The screw driver tip is slightly rounded compared to the one in the photo. There is no finger nail groove on the blade on my one. But there is a finger groove for the cap/bottle opener
Only other difference is the markings. Mine has on the side:
<- 5110-66-013-1930
SHELHAM 2/98
Which translates to NSN numbers:
5110 = Handtools, Edged, Nonpowered
66 = Australia
013-1930 = The specific item number.
http://www.nato.int/structur/AC/135/faq/faq-e.htm
At the base of the blade is:
SHELHAM
3099
I suppose Shelham was the manufacturer.

Wait a second. On the back of the blade it says.
STAINLESS STEEL
MADE IN JAPAN
So much for the "Australia" NSN!
What gives?

Glock makes a sound blade..Its easy to sharpen..holds an edge ok...The metal rusts easy though..I painted the exposed metal on mine.................
All in all, Its a good soldiers blade but not suited for heavy utility use..

Define heavy, because mine is suitable for any activities!
