Well, I look up to Powell as a role model for myself. He rose from a lower-middle class family through school and eventually through the ranks of the U.S. Army to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest military position in the Department of Defense.

Wolcott...his contributions to the advancement of tactics, techniques, and technology in military aviation led to the innovated use of night vision and the development of an SOP for overwater operations. His spirit and courage were evident in the many operations he took part in, especially saving the life of his co-pilot in an AH-1 crash.

Runkle, I bet no one here has even heard of this guy! Well, Benjamin Piatt Runkle was one of the seven Founders of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. His courageous spirit and idealism was an example for all. At the outbreak of the Civil War, he served in the Union Army. He would be seriously wounded at the battle of Shiloh and left for dead. He managed to survive, avoid capture, and make it back to his lines. After the war, he was ordained a deacon, was a professor of military science, and would retire a Major General.
