I saw a show on the hisotry channel talking about how late in WWII the Germans formed a suicide attack pilot squadron which they used twice. The first time they used it to attack two bridges and the second was used against some B-17s.

"Mistel" hardly was a suicide thing, and "Ram-Jaegers" are a rumor only, never happened.

Since this happend in the last months of war not few of those suicide pilots ordered to destoy bridges changed their course to west and surrendered to Allies.

The Germans spent a lot of money on these pilots to try to get them nationally motivated enough to kill themselves for Germany. They made a movie for them.
