U.S.-financed Arabic-language television outlets in the Middle East could be used for airing constructive images, a senior administration official said. While the official insisted the administration does not control what is aired on the stations, the White House wants it to offer viewers a steady stream of favorable images, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Hahahaha, yeah, sure, they "DON'T" control the content .... :cantbeli:
I mean, they have every right to do so. Al-Jazeerah does the same, just from a different point-of-view. Propaganda is propaganda. But at least, you should admit it. But this government seems to have a problem with admitting the thruth on various topics.

That's any government during time of war, not just "this government".

So this is still war, one year after main combat operations are over?
And as I said, it's their right to do so. But it's so ridiculous when they state things like 'we don't control the content'. I mean, it's soooo obvious!
But I guess that's how politics work and how politicians lie, eh, speak.

:cantbeli: so that is no excuse. Especially not if an administration bases its decision to invade a country and occupy it on such propaganda.
In fact unlike to european countries like germany, scandinavian countries.. the US-media were since the begining of the war and even before very uncritical.

Its one thing to put a political slant on a report but lying is totally different.
That's what Al-Jazeera does - they lie plain and simple.
They claim that US forces are deliberately targeting woman, children, and the elderly.
If the US truly wanted to kill civilians, they would simply drop a nuclear bomb or carpet bomb with B-52s with incendiary bombs, HE fragmentation bombs, mixed in with cluster munitions.
If it was the aim of the US to kill civilians, the entire city of Fulluja could be destroyed in one day.

When ever Palestinian children are caught in the cross-fire and killed, they put their age all over their news reports, but when Israeli children are killed they barely mention it and certainly do not put their ages in the news. Arab media is not allowed to speak out against their government but they do encourage them to single out Israel and the United States.

Hm, Foxnews did everything possible (to follow the 'orders' of the Whitehouse) to link Iraq to 9/11 so that the average american would take that as a fact. Until today that claim isn't proven and even administration officials say that. And clever as they are, they always have 'only' INSINUATED that link, but never actually TOLD it plainly so nobody can tell them: See you SAID so. They know how to use words to make a claim and remain untouchable nevertheless. They are spin-masters deluxe.
