This is why Russians distrust the West.

Not only has this guy called Russians barabrians, but the hysterical hyperbole of the article actually reminds me of old Commie newspapers when they talked about the evil West.

Then maybe the russians shouldnt run around assassinating any1 who speaks out against there government?

JOURNALISTS THREAT TO DA STATE!!!!!

Or cutting off half of europe as from gas as the fancey takes them?

Seems to me if the Estonians WANT to remove a memorial from there capital that basically says "yeah you were owned by us mighty Russians" then as a soverign state THEY should be allowed to. WITHOUT some massive cyber attack.....hardly the act of a balanced nation state.

It's a trashy publication - which even supported Hitler prior to WW2.
Ignore them - everyone here in Britain who has at least one functioning brain cell does.

The style of the article made me laugh. But the most important is that your Great Leader and his mates have worked hard lately to take an image of Russia down

The Daily Mail's central mission statements are
1. All foreigners ( except for Rich foreigners) are evil
2. Maggie Thatcher for pope
3. any hint of political or social unrest = house price collapse
4. er....
5. that's it

There are British newspapers that are more pompous ( The Times, The Daily Telegraph,) there are papers that have more interest in "issues" (The Independent or the daily "we're all doomed") and there are papers that have more problems with simple English (The Grauniad.... sorry, I mean The Guardian,) But for sheer spine-tingling mediocrity, the daily mail sails diminuatively over the rest in terms of its true foot-in-mouth capability.

Many thanks for your insightful and hillarious summary.

The Economist has also been going slightly hysterical lately.

Well I found it quite funny when the Economist recently published an article that puts the blame on all of Georgia's problems on Russia, and then goes on to claim that Georgia has better economic prospects than Russia.

Really the economist usually has a pretty good grasp on reality, but all of it's articles over the past several years claiming that Russian economy is doomed, and is never going to recover under 'Putin's authoritariansm', really goes to highlight its neo-liberal agenda. It must really piss off it's editors to see that there is another way for a country to achieve prosperity than simply selling off all of its assets to Western businessmen and letting the market do its work.
