Well we have also problems with standarization mack but situation is changing drastically from year to yera since BG is probably best financially supported formation (EU support is great also Germany supported us since their border is now internal EU border...

few more...

Unfortunatelly our dogs are not standarized...

Walter P99(AFAIK they are now introducing)
Probably some other polish models but it is hard to find and curently they are rearming and reequiping

Heavier stuff:

Fabulous pics!

I guess some parts of the Polish border are very hard to guard. In WWI - WWII literature you keep reading about the impenetrable marshlands, Masurian lakes and East Prussian forests and such. Does it still look like that? Or is all that Belarus/Russia now?On the other hand, Poland is rather densely populated. How is the population distributed, I mean, are there any real wilderness areas left there? You do have wild boar and European Buffalo, but not much, I guess.

yes we have wild boars and wolfs also european buffalos (bizon in polish) the lowest denisity of ppl is near ukrainian border Bieszczady mountines(south-east corner) shortly afther WW2 that was place of UPA infidels (for ukrainian mates they are prabably rebels but for Poles they are murders so pls no flames) commie gov made Operation Wisła and cleaned that area moust of ppl living there was moved on western borders. So there are big forests without humans. also whole eastern border is lower on population, Mazury (north-eastern corner) are country of 1000 lakes. pre WW2 there was big german population so afther moving them to germany that places are still quite natural but Mazury and Bieszczady are prabably moust beautifull places in Poland and lots of turists go there....

None of the above :D

They are, together with the Police, Fire Service and BOR (VIP guards) part of the Ministry of Interior

Yes Wild Boars are actually a problem in poland since population is growing rapidly and they are doing much damage to crops and potatoes

I have a lot of skins from those bastards :-) We are trying to lower population but it is going out of control less to say every year limit for hunting is = estimated population since their population grown rate is ~200%

European Buffalo is called Bison currently there are several hundreds in poland in Białowieza forests and in some other places currently they are moving them to other forests (after II w war there was like 12 left...) So hopefully in few years there will be more of them.

Wolves we have some in mountanis (bieszczady) and Mazury lake area population os growing and is getting better from year to year...

Bears we have some in mountains... but they are in reservates and nobody harm them (except aggresive ones)

In general situation is bettering from year to year especialy with big game

smal game and birds... well there is another problem since we have Fox infestation and other small predators (EU requested Fox vacination against rabbies and this caused to rapid grown of population- before massive vacination rabbies killed enaught of them to maintain population small enaught to allow other animals to survive but now number of hares, rabbits wild ducks and other small animals is going dangerously low... becouse of Foxes (and EU  )

and BTW there is another problem in Poland... first RACOONS were reported near German border!!!! :cantbeli:

OK now back to border.... It is harder to guard eastern border since on west our border goes on rivers and on east only partially, some parts of the border are in deep forests so now the electronical survivalence stuff is installed to monitor border...

But in general our border is quite good guarded and now EU gave us a lot of money to increase security level on east i.e 8000 new border guards will be hired in next 2 years, now some part of border guards are conscript but they want to give up draft next summer (If you are drafted in army in poland you can refuse but instead of army service you have to work 18 months (instead of 12 in army-which would be soon reduced to 9)
in Police,Border Guards, as a Fireman or as a Nurse in in Mental Hospital.

AFAIK Catch22 served in police instead of army (not regular police but riot police which is much more borring and mentally retarding job than army ;-) )
