Bombs Rock Central Athens Police Station

ATHENS (*******) - Three bomb blasts hit a central Athens police station early Wednesday, a police official said.
It was not clear whether there were any casualties or damage to the building. The police official said authorities had received an anonymous warning that the three explosive devices would go off at the police station in Kalithea.
In August Greece hosts the Olympics, amid fears the games could be a target for political violence.

BOMB BLASTS IN ATHENS
Three bomb blasts have hit a central Athens police station, Greek police have said.
One officer was slightly hurt but the explosion caused no casualties and authorities have cordoned off the area around the station in the Kalithea area.
The police official said authorities had received an anonymous warning that the three explosive devices would go off at the police station.
A spokesman told ******* news agency: "The first two explosions went off in a span of five minutes. The third exploded half an hour later as bomb experts were still looking for it."
Greece is due to host the Olympics in August, amid fears the games could be a target for political violence.
Kalithea is near several hotels to be used by Olympic officials during the games in August.
The spokesman said: "The police are treating this matter very seriously with only three months to go until the games.
"You have three sophisticated time bombs going off outside a police station, that's serious enough for police."
The number of bomb attacks in Greece had decreased after the dismantling of the guerrilla group November 17 in 2002.

ATHENS, Greece - Three timebombs exploded outside a central Athens police station early on Wednesday but caused no serious casualties, a police official said.

Authorities had cordoned off the area around the station in Kalithea after an anonymous caller warned a newspaper about them, the official said.
“The first two explosions went off in a span of five minutes. The third exploded half an hour later as bomb experts were still looking for it,” the police official told *******.
An ambulance was called for one policeman slightly hurt by the third blast, he said.
Kalithea is near several hotels to be used by Olympic officials during the games in August. Fears have been running high that the games could be a target of political violence.
