Classic Liberalism (between Socialism and Conservatism....much like the Republican party in the US) or Neo Liberalism (Basically the same as Socialism, the modern American Democratic party).
What about Facism? It's far left wing....but ideologicall serperate from Communism and Nazism.
Auhtoritarian also is seperate from Totalitarianism. Authoritarianism represses political freedoms but relatively few civic freedoms while Totalitarianism oppresses just about everything.

Neoliberalism differs a whole lot from socialism. The american democratic party is like the european liberal party and in most european countries those are the most right wing parties.
Furthermore. Facism is basicly far-anything. It isn't far left wing, since far left wing talks of a dictatorship of the workers, not of a singe authorative figure.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The naked chicks and beer ideology. I call it Rockandrollism...
I, too, have followed this great idology. If anyone is interested in learning more, may I suggest School of Rock as a starting point? Many lessons to be learned.
Seriously, I hate categories. I vote Republican but I am anti-abortion, pro-choice, pro civil liberties, pro defense, anti big government, pro states rights, pro tax reform, fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and I can't stand Al Gore. Categorize that!

Welcome to the jungle
It gets worse here everyday
Ya learn ta live like an animal
In the jungle where we play
If you got a hunger for what you see
You'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want
But you better not take it from me
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your knees, knees
I wanna watch you bleed
:D
Edit: Oops...Raiders jersey! Sorry FG
I am anti-abortion, pro-choice
Anti-abortion, but pro-choice? Whoa, can you explain that one to me?
Don't worry, not trying to start another abortion debate. I intend no offense, my question is sincere. :)
On the thread topic; Viva la rockandrollism!

No worries and no offence taken Fox2, that one always catches people off guard. It works like this: ms. hank cannot get an abortion, and I think abortion is wrong, I just don't want to make the decision for others. So, I think abortion is bad (anti-abortion) but I would allow it for others (pro-choice).
It is the only way I can work out the fact that I don't want to be forced to have one, simply get hands off. Also, laws that ban abortion are ineffective and just lead to botched abortions that hurt everybody. Not a perfect solution but one I can live with.
hank
the third way should be up there.. :(

Okay, thanks for explanation. I took a look at that and just had a brain freeze. I'm still trying to decide if it was the words or the cold, cold soda I was drinking at the time. ;)

No sweat, that very position is the reason that I don't like categorizing myself. No entity (dem or Rep or green, etc.) really fits my idea on that issue. I respond by just not choosing a candidate on that issue. For me its a non-issue. Unless the Supreme Court reverses and says the right to provacy does not cover abortion I get what I want and a President can't directly change that in the immdeaite future, so I just stay away from it. I'm glad you asked. The lack of flaming on this thread is a good sign for the forum.
Now if only memphiz would photoshop somebody everything would be perfect. ;)

You are also homo-gay-muslum-loving-pussys? :)
The goverment should run the police, military and other social parts that isn't logical for a private company to run - and have a protective net for citicens that get into trubble in life, being it loosing their jobs and so on.
The citicens should themselfs be allowed to decide over job, education, daycare, living-situation, hobbys, ****** preference and so on.
The goverment should protect and make a starting-plattform for their citicens to excell, not try to keep them down with 10 000 moronic small laws or rules, many based on 'moral'.
'No naked breasts on beach'-regulations so many of you have to live with...I pitty you. :]

What happened to libertarian or stuff like that? Or anarchist? Or nihilism? p-)
I'm skeptical of political idealologies. Just be yourself, not a party line. Of course, if a party's idealology suits you perfectly, go with it then. Have a good one, and just some thoughts...
PS: Where's my Ben Kenobi avatar when I need it? It's Darth Vader! Wait, doesn't Darth Vader kill Obi Wan?
Dude, Tane, my man. How can you say no to Rockandrollism? I mean, c'mon. I knew you were the hippy tree hugger type, but c'mon, man. I mean, free ice cream and women dig it. And you get to protest bogus government zionist conspiracies, like Al Sharpton. It's a win-win situation, man.
Can yah dig it?!

in one word:
blairism
in more than one word:
although this is a different party that's supposedly more radical it sums it up nicely
Third Way is a political party based in Britain which advocates a practical decentralisation of power through constitutional reform and the creation of a society in which wealth is more equitably distributed.
A party rather different from the rest, Third Way combines democratic socio-economic reform and inclusive nationalism with co-operative internationalism and ecological awareness; supporting the right to genuine self-determination for peoples throughout the world. The resultant synthesis, still evolving, offers an alternative approach to politics -- a new perspective, in contrast to the failed and outdated dogma of past and present governments....
The Third Way, as we are to understand it in Britain, has been most clearly academically developed by Anthony Giddens (of the London School of Economics), in his books ‘The Third Way’, ‘The Global Third Way Debate’, ‘The Third Way and it’s Critics’, and most recently in a Fabian pamphlet entitled “Where now for New Labour?”. So he’s made some money out of it. It was also the title of another Fabian pamphlet written by Tony Blair in 1998. However, it should be noted that the Gidden's defined Third Way arose intitially, at least, from a programme of pragmatic 'triangulation' in the US by President Bill Clinton, who claimed that this politics was "above and beyond" Left and Right. Other influences have included Amitai Etzioni (who has worked on updating the theory of communitarianism), Will Hutton (who wrote “The State We’re in” and is probably the best known advocate of the ‘Stakeholder Economy’) and David Marquand (a leading figure in the understanding of the Labour Right, or as his book labelled them, "Labour's Progressives").

I am unlabelled. I would like to think that my political ideologies don’t fall into some certain category as I like to think as my self as an open minded individual and that to go strictly by one party’s ideas isn’t the smartest thing to do. I could spend hours talking about this but I will not bore you with my talk.
