The USA rejoices after enduring overtime and triumphing in the shootout
In a quarter-final thriller, Team USA defeated the Czech Republic in a shootout. Andy Roach, the last American shooter, scored the only goal of the session, sending the USA on through to the semi-finals versus Sweden and the Czechs out of the tournament. The final score was 3-2.
Sazka Arena was buzzing tonight in anticipation of this matchup, and the fans were not disappointed. This was the best hockey of the 2004 IIHF World Championship. So far.

That was a great game and a tremendous effort by the US team! I thought they would lose since they were looking a bit pale against Sweden but they played with a lot of heart and won, like it should be. Feel a litlle sorry for the czech, though...them hosting the championships and all...

How popular is hockey in Poland? I know of at least one player who is from Poland. But you guys never play in international matches.Well, we have 2 players in NHL-Mariusz Czerkawski(NY Islanders) and Krzysztof Oliwa.I dont know where he playing(hockey is not my favourite sport).Well, hockey isnt most popular sport in Poland, we love socer-football :) .I think we paly in "Division 2" or something like that, so we arent hockey super power :( I guess hockey isnt very popular,like football, basketball, voleyball or speedway ;) Maybe some other Pole here know more about polish hockey than me :) Regards :)

I believe Olifa plays for the Ottawa Senators.
Oliwa plays for Flames.
I remember a guy called Sidorkiewicz (sp)...a good goalie I think back in the days.

Oliwa, not Olifa :) BTW Oliwa means Olive ;) Well, i dont know where he is playing, and i dont care.If im correct he changed few times his clubs.He is some kind of boxer, i mean when some enemy palyer is too hard for his collegues he kick his ass ;)Well, hockey is very brutal sometimes(i liked this in this game), but football is better ;)
