For me it was fairly simple. He was my best friend. I couldn't imagine my life without him. When I heard something funny or interesting, the first person I wanted to tell was him. There was no one that I would have rather spent time with. He was smart, funny, handsome and kind. He was crazy about me, and he let me know it. I was crazy about him too, so it was a no brainer. :D
If you find someone like that... marry them. ;)

There was a moment, when she was sandwiched between the two Finnish dwarves and the Maori tribesmen, where I thought, "Wow, I could really spend the rest of my life with this woman".

Her father pointed a shotgun at me and said "welcome to the famlee, now git up awn the altar." p-)
I just kind of knew...I don't know how. I was a bit of a shy one though-still am. :D She was, and is, great. don't just mean kind of great, I mean she is the most amazing thing. To this day, I am amazed by her. She's like a cake, lot's of layers. Marydawn knows what I'm talking about.
I guess like Marydawn said, I just couldn't imagine life without her. We argue, she almost divorced me a while back (and rightfully so), and we've gone through the usual trials and tribulations of marriage. But I have to say, I really do love her.
Best of luck for you all and your loves. :D

You are the sweetest.... :D
You are fortunate to have each other.
John and I had rough times too, but don't you think the rough times make the rest that much better?
I absolutely know what you mean. John was my onion. I hope to find another someday... or maybe a cake... ;)
For those of you looking... the best I can say is that you'll know.

In answer to the question... well I don't have a very good answer. I'm not sure when it happened, but I just knew. I suddenly couldn't imagine ever living without him. Lucky for me he felt the same way. :)

Sounds stupid and when I was single I hated this answer, but you just know when its the right person. Don't know what it is, but mrs. hank had it and I was hooked. Best decision I ever made, great wife, great mom, all that and a bag of chips.

Met her in the military hospital after I was wounded.
I always had a thing for pretty nurses.
How I realized that she was the one?
I felt very relaxed around her, we could talk for hours, or sit silently for hours.
The other thing that I noticed was her true compassion to her patients. Believe me, after some time out there in the field, you quickly learn how to filter bull**** from truth.
Later, life proved to me many times that I made the right choice. I don't know where would I be right now if it wasn't for her.

Hit that alleged special person really hard - afterwards if you feel bad about it then it's true love, if you shrug your shoulders after the brutal beating it was never meant to be.

Soon to be married, but I've been with her since I was 15 and I knew I wanted to marry her after the 5th year. Usually you'll get tired of that person or what not after being with them for so long, but for some reason, I still love her "truely madly deeply" to this day and blah blah blah...so my friend, that's a pretty good reason don't you think so?

I'm not necceserly saying there must only be one person for everyone out there that is suited, but looking at the odds for meeting my wife I do think there is something that made us draw together beyond what we can normally see.
It's like some people say...'they just knew'. You can meet a woman and 'nothing'...you sould is dead for her, then meet another and you just come to life...

For me I guess it was when the mail order bride company Fedexed her to my neighbour's door and he wasn't there to sign for her so I had to.
Seriously I'm not sure or at least can't put it into words, but I just knew.
(And if my wife ever sees the post above I'm a dead man right)

I was bewitched by her sparkling personality, and mesmerized by her overstuffed bra as it struggled to contain it's fleshy cargo.
I don't know - - we lived in the same barracks, went through a lot of crap together, got to be very close friends, and after seeing each other for about a year, we decided one day to get married. So we walked down to the JP & got hitched.
And call me a hopeless romantic, but 17 years later, I'm still mesmerized by her ****s. Ain't love grand?

When we met, my wife was 15 and I was 16. At that point, I couldn't tell if she was "the one". I guess you could say that I felt that she was the one while I was in college. All I looked forward to all week was driving the 4.5 hours to see her. I played football in college and would leave to see her as soon as I left the locker room after the game. If I wasn't talking to her or seeing her, I thought about her. We have been together for over 14 years now and I find myself feeling the same way now that I did when I was younger. I guess you can say that you've found "the one" if the person you're with, consumes your thoughts anytime of the day. Fortunately, I've found that person. My wife is the greatest and she's my best friend.
