Dammit ! Once again, I've missed all the goose-stepping over the US flag on the Champs Elysées, and the chanting of "Death to America" in every major city.

Judging by the thread starter's fabulous "report" and the way he formulated the poll, I'd say it's not anti-Americanism in European media but the exact opposite.

"Polls clearly show that Europeans have turned against America in increasing numbers. You can blame Iraq or George Bush. But it's also true that Europeans have been fed a steady diet of media distortions about America for years.
And if you repeat a distortion long enough, it can become reality.
If you got your news about the United States only from the European media, chances are good you wouldn't like the United States either. There are a lot of reasons for the anti-American coverage in the media here, but you can start with the journalists themselves. They're mostly liberal and they're on a mission.
America gets a journalistic thumping just about every day in Europe. It's a one-way media war that our government has shown little or no interest in fighting seriously, even though it has severely damaged America's image and influence."

Yes sure. Bad media coverage... The media is spreading hate and that is why people hate America.. right..

Only very few topics actually get covered which might portray America in a negative light but they are the direct result of the actions of the Americans themselves.

People in Europe like peace, they like the environment and they like human rights.

Then they see Kyoto, they see Iraq (especially Iraq) and they see Guantanamo. And people get pissed. Does anyone honestly expect that to create a positive image of America?

The embassador was especially cute. Yes people were asking about Guantanamo. We should never stop asking. Human rights are too valuable to be ignored just like that.

If the US want a better image in Europe, they should just stop pissing in the Porridge. But they cannot do that.

I don't get it...Here I thought we weren't supposed to care what others thought of us? Turns out some of my fellow Americans are pretty emotional afterall.

Surely, FoxNews has all kinds of glowing remarks about Europe, as do Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Savage, etc.etc. Nothing but nice things to say about Europe, REALLY! p-)

Seriously, being anti-Bush doesn't make one anti-American.

European people started the greatest wars in human history.
European people started slavery in africa and asia.
European people are the biggest arm sellers (uk second place, france third place)
European people talks about Guantanamo Bay (Cuba) but never talks about Castro's political prisoners (Cuba).
European people talks a lot about environment but they still search for money to pay theire "dreams".
