I came across this picture of what is claimed to be a South African belt rig used by long range recon forces. Can anyone shed any more light on it?

Refering here, judging by the Cordura color it might be indeed a Recce or Parabatt gear, not complete though. Guess some SA members could comment on it.

Not any kind of standard SA kit, but then again, most SF around the world do not wear "standard isseu" a lot of time. And like most SF, anything might at any time have been worn by SA SF. So if I post a pic of a 1950's patrolbag, I can claim it was worn by SA Recce's, and who can dispute that?
Of interest though. Will notice that SADF and SANDF has since the Pattern 83 battlejackets never had any type of "beltrig" kit. Apparently (whether I agree with this I don't know, just know that type 83 was huge improvement on old canvass webbing) jacket type of kit found more effective in local research and works better on long range foot patrols and less likely to snag in vehicles. Whether SF agree with this, who knows.

A bunch of those came in in the mid 1990s, it's a Homelands issue peice (Bophuthatswana to be exact). A similar set up to the Battleur 90 kit, had a backpack and a chest rig that went with it (which was a copy of the earlier Niemoller webbing). It was supposed to be issued to their SF? I have never seen any suspenders for it.
