I'm normally a lurker, but I have a burning question. I have a 870 Express Magnum and want to add an extension to it. Problem is with a lot of the aftermarket extensions they require me to grind down the dimples in the tube before I can use it. Does anybody know of a company that makes one where you don't have to mod the 870? I know Tac-Star and another company require the mod. Thanks

You will not find one that does not require you to grind down the dimples....It is just impossible to put more rounds through the tube without grinding out dimples.....Rounds never even reach the extension....I did it myself, but the tacstar extension did not match finish of my 870, so I sold it and bought one with 6 round magazine....It looks much, much nicer....

How come you don't want to grind down the dimples? I found it to be an easy task. I just drilled them out, using a small bit. You'll probably find that it's not a big deal.

Very simple, I used a dremmel on mine.. it's nearly impossible to do something wrong.. The best extension i've seen is made by Wilson. Either that or go to the hardware store and buy a thin file and just file it down if you don't have a dremmel.
