Um, yes, I'm not sure how those shooting badges 'snuck' in there (posting at 2:30 in the morning maybe?).

AFAIK the marines were disbanded.

Civilians would be able to gain the parachuting badge as a member of the Reserve Forces, but would have to attend the course. I'm not sure about doing it on a purely civilian basis. IE: Pitch up at the base and ask to do some jumps and qualify.

"Possibly a tracker and a forward air controller? I'm just guessing though"
Yes that is so the one is a F.A.C badge yellow in colour with a brown background and all qualified F.A.C are allowed to wear them.
As for the Badger that is the badger badge and come in three different colourings but has changed to a new badge. The old one use to be the badger in three colourings, blue for basic tracker, green for intermediate or visual tracker and red background for instructor tracker.
New badge is a footprint and in two colours green for visual tracker and red for instructor.

Junior Recce
AFAIK this was an attempt to add skills to the infantry units by having selected individuals undergo training with the Recces. The concept never caught on and was dropped after a few years. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6541/abf05abigyc1.jpg

I have no idea. I'm not too clued up on the Railway Police. IIRC correctly they were trained by GSG-9 and used a fair bit of kit of German origin. Just something I remember reading somewhere, don't know how accurate this is though.

Thanks again.

They spent about three months on the Bluff and at DukuDuku, but I don't have any specific info on the training they received.

Maybe you confused it with the railway police task force badge of the wings with an uzi in it?

Yes, they had badges with uzi's, "fist or thunder" and I thought they also had the bat badges. However I am not sure anymore as the image I had in my mind looks exactly like the junior recce badges.

Similar to someone from say the 82nd going to Ranger school but not being assigned to the 75th?

I guess, but they never did the same training, nor qualified as Recce operators. It was just to inject some better skills into the regular infantry units.
