I wanted to ask MP members of their preffered choice of webbing that they use (for those who are currently serving!)
I'm sure many may prefer chest webbing, for some reason I never liked those. This Aussie made Auscam7 is my choice and will purchase it soon. It seems to be quite good and recommended by many who used it.

SORD is having a sale on their MVP harness at the moment, $15.
Also, how can it be your choice if you don't own it?

In the US Army we no longer wear webbing, we just attach pouches to the IBA.
Unless you'r D3LT4, they wear whatever they want. As a matter of fact, last week I saw an operator go out on a mission with Mickey Mouse ears, Chinese knockoff USGI LCE webbing, and a t-shirt that read, "SHOOT ME, MOTHER****ER" in English, Farsi, and Arabic.
Tough, tough guys.

Worst webbing ever!
You must be a cadet because no one in the ADF would wear it if they had the green light for non issued kit.

Jarpi M83 assault rig, best of both worlds.
Apart from the sh!t brown colour.
Mind you that would blend right into the average aussie scenery...

Agreed. You can't go to far wrong with our Pattern 83 Battle Jacket.
And it was on-board with the whole Coyote/Camel Tan (etc etc) colour craze long before it became popular. :)

It's officially known as Nutria Brown, but we prefer to call it Sharki (a mixture of **** and khaki). :)

I wish those M83 vests weren't so damn hard to find.
All that I ever see are the poor quality knock offs.

Dude! I'm not becoming an arms dealer with you if you're just going to cut us out as the middle-man like that! How much mark-up can we put on the battle jackets they're going to order without going through us? p-)

Pfff these 83's go for retail prices anyway. Not much of a profit to make there. Some of the stuff there is dirt-cheap though. You ever ordered anything there?

No, not from them. I shopped here the last time I was in Pretoria.

Well, I was very happy that we adopted that Pattern 83 stuff otherwise I would have been using the Pattern 58 (?) - which was pretty much what the Brits used during the Second World War!!
One rain storm and it suddenly increases in weight tenfold it soaked up so much water. :|

Pattern 60/64 replaced the old Pattern 37 (WW2) webbing, though as you wrote it wasn't exactly a huge improvement.

i reckon the stock webbing aint that bad... but then it is heaps uncomfortable when doing fire and move, as it moves up and down to much, i wouldnt mind chest webbing as i expect it wont move as much as the standard one does... go try them all out, and see which one suits you the most, and dont just get it because it looks cool, see which one is most pratical, and which one fits the things you need the best, as some pouches are just unpractical...

I personally think that kit-bag stuff is total ****. Overpriced, glowing, smelly crap.
SORD is ****ing awesome, most of the stuff they do is the best on the market. Everything from holsters to the little accessories pouches. Stay the **** away from kit-bag in my opinion.
