Ok, there are some vehicles, somebody could think, that this is H1, but that`s wrong. Let`s see:
China - DongFeng EQ2050

Spain - URO

Meh... they all look very similar. So do most military vehicles in their respective classes.
Low profile and center of gravity, wide wheelbase, and high ground clearance... seems to me like a common design philosophy/paradigm for any sort of personnel carrier.
I don't know if you're insinuating that these vehicles are all Humvee "copies". If you are, I'd have to disagree. If you're not, nice pics.

Some of them a copies, some of them - not. When i searched them, sometimes was info like "build on humvee base". But that thread is for those, who thinks, that hummer is the best :) and just for fun :)

thx for clarification
why all armies are shifting to hummer class as basic car for army instead of uaz(or what is it in the western armies)-class like this
http://www.uazbuka.ru/gallery/img/p02.jpg
arent two cars such class more effective then 1 hummer? (the cost is, i think, in those borders 2 to 1)

Hummer class is not just a car for personal, it is module vehicle, where you can mount different weaponary.

The Vodnik is in service with the Russian Armed Forces to perform the same tasks as the US Hummer. I don't think the Tigr is in service with the army, just police (not quite sure)...
http://www.jumy.de/suv/gaz/GAZ-39371_Vodnik.jpg
But yeah, both the Vodnik and Tigr are based on a BTR-80 chassis and have outperformed the Hummer in direct comparison tests during trials.

afaik it is used in antiterrorist units. dont know are they army or police though

Yes, hummer is multipurpose but it don't really fit any of it's purposes.
For a combat vehicle it's too lightly armored and armed. Better BRDM-2, Dingo-II and other dedicated and standardly armoured combat vehicles.
For a light truck it's too small. GAZ-66 can carry more on rough terrain.
And for personal transport it's too large and uneconomical, smaller vehicles like Mercedes-G, UAZ, or Land Rover are better suited to transport 4 people.
Therefore the Hummer-trend seems really odd

I think it has a lot to do with the ability of the vehicles. The Tigr can climb 45 degree slopes (!), 20 + inch vertical steps, get up to 140 km/h on the road and 70 + off-road...I like the Gaz-66 (it's my favorate truck), but it simply can't take rough terrain at such high speeds, and the UAZ, Landrover, G-Wagen etc. type of vehicles can't carry 1.5 - 2 tons of cargo or go places where a car like the Tigr can.

The first Lambo, the Cheetah, was developed in 1977, two years before GM launched the M988. The LM002/3/4 were developments from the Cheetah.
"Lamborghini Cheetah was Lamborghini (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini)'s first attempt at an off-road vehicle. It was built on contract from Mobility Technology International, which in turn was contracted by the US military (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_the_United_States) to design and build a new all-terrain vehicle. The basis of the design came from MTI, and was largely a copy of FMC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_Machinery_Corporation)'s XR 311 prototype developed for the military in 1970 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970). This resulted in legal action from FMC against MTI and Lamborghini in 1977 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977) when the Cheetah was presented at the Geneva Auto Show (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Auto_Show). The XR 311 and Cheetah could be considered progenitors of the current Hummvee."

Cenareca Tiuna
The versions of the vehicle are Reconnaissance, Anti tank with 106mm canon, Anti tank with the ATGM IMI MAPAT 2, Anti air with SAM RBS-70, Anti air with SAM Mistral, Ambulance, Public order, tow truck, grabage truck, coomunications, civilian version and a few other... Some hundreds have been produced, but less than a thousand. Production will continue until the Venezuelan forces have all the vehicles they need, then maybe some might be sold to otehr countries.

I guess the idea comes from the M151 MUTT... they put those 106mm on the jeeps and now that the Mutt is not in service anymore the Tiuna got some of those.
I wonder if Cenareca has worked on armored versions of the Tiuna, I've seen some versions that look somewhat a little bit armored, but still most of the versions are based on speed over armor. After looking at what happened to the Humvees in Iraq armored versions are a must.

I just read that 300 Tiunas have been made fo the military and another 100 for the civilian sector (for state police and things like that). I also read that Kuwait showed some interest in the vehicle but since all production was dedicated to supply vehicles for the Ve. forces no deal was made... it seems that some other South American countries are showing some interest in the vehicle too.

I think you cannot beat the original U.S. Military HUMMVEE {HMMVW}! The Hummer series - the 'H1, H2 & H3/H3X' themselves look much better! The rest just look like poor imitations - copies - replicas - knock-offs! What ever you might call them! That is my own personal preference. Do ye agree or disagree?

IŽd love to see a head to head durability test on very rough terrain. The 'giant' suspensien bars are so big and strong for a reason. The suspension on this japanese vehicle looks a bit fragile.
