BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Staff Sgt. Zack Porter (standing) and Capt. Mitch Simmons collect data from a coalition precision-guided munition strike through the roof of the Ba'ath Party headquarters building during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The airmen are among nearly 100 experts of the Combined Weapons Effectiveness Assessment Team. The team has visited more than 100 of a planned 500 sites to assess how well coalition weapons achieved their intended effects during Operation Iraqi Freedom. It will report its findings to U.S. Central Command this fall. (U.S. Air Force photo by Capt. Patricia Lang)

yeah, i agree with tane angle. regardless of who knows who or what, the only people authorized to talk about such things are those people themselves, and when that person is really what you mention, they don't talk about such things anyway. great photo though. I find it kind of wacky that we have people on the ground assessing diameters of craters and bomb effectiveness with a magnifying glass. Reminds of that movie the pricess bride. The evil guy tortures wesley, and then wants to scientifically analyze him for what effect it had on him.

OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (AFPN) -- Staff Sgt. David Countie helps form a security perimeter around the trucks of the Red Tail Express recently. The express delivers supplies to servicemembers at forward-deployed locations. When the vehicles stop, people riding shotgun set up the perimeter to deter aggressors while the drivers check their cargo. Countie is assigned to the 332nd Vehicle Operations Squadron. Not a single picture there is AFSOC. The guys looking at bomb damage are likely a joint make-up of Intel guys from DIA and the 497 IG (which is the HQ AF targeting cell) and prolly some navy stuff too, since the AF doesn't have the TLAM.

And (I read your bit about OSI before you deleted it), OSI agents are charged as federal Law Enforcement agents, so they are required to carry a firearm when they fly (and they are allowed).

wow its harsh here...
i know that these guys arnt special forces i just posted them cause of the gear...cant i get a thanks?
anyways not all osi agents are allowed to carry weapons on airplanes and crap, and i belive they are charged as militarey...since in order to apply you need to be a tech sgt in the airforce...i may be wrong though....

Man, I was asleep way too long. I missed somethin' good. And please, "Special Forces" means only Army Special Forces (Green Berets). Special Operations Forces (SOFs) includes everyone.

Whoever slaved their laser onto that spot, or got their GPS coords that perfect, deserves an award... i mean right through the top of the dome? That was like accurate down to a few inches...

There ya go, that last one actually is of some USAF Special Ops guys. Special Operations Weather Technicians (SOWTs). Cool guys. That second drawing pic, they took off his 82nd patch! Do you have a larger version of that first drawing? Looks cool.

And about the laser on the top of the dome...
1. Could have been a GPS/Satellite-guided munition
2. Could have been an aerial laser system (like the F-117)
3. COULD BE A BADASS CCT!!
