An Israeli soldier was killed and five wounded in an ambush by Lebanon's Shiite Hezbollah militia earlier in the day in the disputed Shebaa Farms border area, sparking heavy exchanges of fire, a day after the United Nations called for calm. In Beirut, Lebanese Foreign Minister Jean Obeid called for a UN inquiry into the series of events that led up to the incident. Hezbollah claimed to have killed or wounded a number of Israeli soldiers who had crossed the UN-drawn Blue Line marking the boundary of southern Lebanon. A military spokesman in Jerusalem confirmed the death, but a senior minister played down the clash as a little local difficulty. Nice to the old M-14/M1A back in play. I've seen photo's of one indiviual with a squad/platton, but this is the first time that I've seen multiple ones in a squad. Does anyone know how many M-14s and M1As are back in service? Are they issued to soldiers with sniper training only or is the designated marksman designation back?

It is my understanding that the army is encouraging the issuing of M14s to designated marksman.

JTF2 doesn't protect every government official. The RCMP does it in Canada.

If he was JTF2 I don't think he'd go undercover as a MP but I suppose he could.

Well I know that, but the JTF2 was already in Haiti so they possibly would be there for protection. Still I think its a Disguise ;)

MPs do Close protection work as well as JTF2. And they are fully capable and extremely well trained individuals. I know a female MP who is Bodyguard qualified. Wouldnt wanna mess with her.

:D You are right!

It is really a weird picture... I think the navigator decided to have some fun with the photo session, on the other hand their are flying with live amo and bringing something like a fake "arm" in a crammed cockpit is something dangerous.

Strange.

Yeah, I wonder if old Russian Empire uniforms are used again for honour duties. Seams that tovaritsh Putin rebuilds the old empire and traditions of russian Tzars.
