Maybe the guy wasn't a best example of the law abiding citizen, but hell having troubles for multi tool and a wheel wrench in the trunk of the car is oh well idiotic to say at least...

I'm thinking it had a lot more to do with the kids additude then anything else.
Try acting like to a LEO in the states and see how long it is before you get an asp up side your head.

Dont know what he did wrong, just think his a mouthy lil S**T.
In the US this guy would be on the ground with handcufs, knee on his neck and a couple guns pointed at his head.

Yea, but no one would take his knife from trunk and claim he is a "threat to national security" :) This is a part I was trying to point not the bad mouth of the chav :) , after all you don't need to have a bad mouth to be questioned by police, **** happens....
That was comical.
Mouthy little cu%t, no doubt he will have his day when the camera isnt around.
Its interesting to see the quotes regarding what would happen to him in the US, "on the ground with a knee on his neck and guns pointed at his head" i believe its true and that would happen in the US, but i dont see why.
Perhaps someone would care to enlighten us all.

"Oi Oi, ye assaultin' me offissa!!!"
lol newayz, im pretty amazed at how those officers handled it. here in Canada the RCMP wud tell u to stfu until your at the station unless they ask u questions. And if you reached in your car while being searched, like how that guy reached for that metal bar thingy, you would get maced soo fast.

What a prick and clown. And that plier-knife is kind of too long(not saying that it's illegal though).Mine is way shorter. And he's definately a racist.
Yea, but no one would take his knife from trunk and claim he is a "threat to national security" :) ...
You never know these days. If you are Pakistani/Arab looking you might become a 'threat to national security' by pi$$ing on a sidewalk. :)

A question for the LEO's out there: is it normal procedure to let a suspect (for lack of a better term) reach into his trunk amidst random crap and pull things out while you stand a foot or so away (if that)?
Based on my limited experience (it's never happened to me) of seeing US LEO's search/check out a car, there's no way in hell they'd let that guy stand there bouncing around reaching in like that.

He's a little chav wannabe prick, not likely to pull out a m60 p-)
However, the chump does have a point..its a multi tool in his sodding boot heh
Yea, but no one would take his knife from trunk and claim he is a "threat to national security" :)
and no one claimed that.
Fact is, if he wasn't being a prick then i'm sure nothing would have happened. Can't say I know the exact laws on multitools and such, but i'm pretty sure you'd be allowed to have one in your car, else how could you ever buy one from a shop?
I've had knives similar to that in my car before, in a multitool and penknife form, and if you've got a decent reason for it then I don't really see the problem.
I'm fairly certain you could come up with a better reason for not coming to britain other than that video anyway :)
fcuked up.
yeah he's a little prick. but as far as i know there's no law against that .
getting busted for having a multitool in your trunk, that's the fcuked up part. pathetic actually.
i live in the states where on a typical day i carry either a .357 wheelgun or a 9mm, a couple of knives, some pepper spray and a few other goodies. plus depending on which car a long gun or two. not because i have to, but because i can.

Right, the guy had things in his boot that wouldn`t normally be taken off him but if the car was his, why did he run when the cops showed up?? he was clearly up tp no good which is why tools that could be used in a robbery etc were taken off him.
Maybe it wouldn`t have happened in the US but hey...

Arguing or insulting the Police is never a winning strategy.
If they are violating your rights, shut up, remember their names and/or badges, then file complaints or seek legal advice afterward.

Well you're wrong, offensive weapons laws are circumstantial, rightly so as well. If you have say an axe, that's not banned right? carrying it in your car isn't a big deal as you may have a use for it.
Now imagine the situation where the police are dealing with a person who has been acting suspiciously (like this kid) and is uncooperative etc. and then you find a lone axe in his boot with no other tools, raises some questions to as why it's there. Or another example, someone carrying a screwdriver on them, okay what's it for? if they have other tools or are performing work that needs it etc then no problem, but if not then what's it for? if you're carrying it at a football match then you're getting it confiscated at the very least.
You live in the states and you can carry guns etc, that's great, we live in the UK and our culture and country is different to yours.

I think him getting a ticket had more to do with him being a little prick rather than the actual "offense". I mean if they stopped some random guy who answered them without giving any jip they wouldn't give monkeys about a multitool in the boot. He was being a ****wad though so they just looked for something/anything to get him done.
