Anyone else suffer from these? I've been getting them tons lately, atleast 4 or 5 of the painful buggers at a time, I've never had teeth problems so I doubted it was an infection, infact I quite pride myself on my full set of white teeth.

Anyone who does suffer I'd advise maybe checking there toothpaste, I went to a health suppliment shop and bought some more natural toothpaste, and after a day I can already feel them starting to heal and brushing was less painful, you cant believe the amount of nasty stuff they put into toothpaste, especially whitening. If any of you are using colgate or crest I bet you theres something called 'sodium lauryl sulfate' in there, this stuffs such a irritant that scientists use it as a standard by which they classify other irritants, and its used to clean car engines.

Dont know if this thread will actually help anyone, but anyone who suffers from ulcers will know that they really make you feel run down from constant pain and not being able to eat properly, so a good place to start would be looking at the stuff that they think is keeping there mouth healthy.

This stuff is awesome aswell http://mouthulcers.co.uk/#Gengigel

Its recommended for people who have had oral surgery to help them heal, so it really helps with mouth ulcers.

I've never had one mouth ulcer in my life and you're talking to a guy who has stuck his tongue in some strange pussies over the years. I don't know about this toothpaste bull**** either. I think those things are just genetic.

I get them occasionally. Nothing bad though, just a little sore every once in a while. I think it's triggered by stress. And I'm going to side with Clete that some people are either born with a predisposition to them or something because I remember getting them long before... well you get the idea.

I will no longer go down on any pussy after traumatic experiences. They taste like dead bloated fish in 100 degree heat.

For mouth ulcers, I heard applying honey really helps.

I used to get them as a kid, and I'd just dump salt on my tongue and grind it right into the ulcer. That seemed to smarten it up, albeit in a rather painful way.

Whitening anything is just bad for your teeth. They'll melt the enamel right off them.

Whaa? Not true, whitening doesn't melt or damage anamel, cause you would have thousands of people without teeth who get these laser whitening procedures...

Stuff used to clean car engines in toothpaste? There's also stuff called something like Asparitame (spelling is wrong, I bet) in most diet sodas which is a product of coal, but I don't give a rats ass.

Hell most of the food you eat probably has some nasty stuff in it too but ya do it anyway!

...do you really think whitening tooth paste and laser treatments are the same?

They are not the same but FDA approved whitening toothpastes have much much lower consentration of chemicals, so I wouldn't worry about melting enamel. If He ment some Chinese fake toothpastes with antifreeze in them then yes.

Lasers have a lower concentration of chemicals than toothpaste? Shocking.

For your info when you go to get laser whitening it's not just a light, they apply chemical gels and activate them with laser light source. The gels that are packed with different chems are the primary ingredient in the whitening process.

you know some classy women:grin:

most mouth ulcers are caused by stress and lack of sleep.
rinse your mouth with bicarbonate of soda instead of mouth wash which is alcohol based, and will make it sore.

Basically they're caused by a specific virus that remains dormant in your system. Stress, ill health, poor nutrition, etc. can cause an outbreak.

A way to reduce the outbreak duration is to eat yogurt. Only caveat is that it should have active cultures and you should try to eat the more basic styles, ie. plain, vanilla, etc. (Avoid the heavy sugared, fruit varieties.)

Had an few of the buggers pop up when I was in the field two months ago. Not easy to find yogurt in an MRE or a T-Ration box.

If they appear on your lips, a good med (although expensive) is Abreva.
