hi fellas i was wondering if you guys could tell me the reason's why there are numourous different stocks for the m4.
i can see the physical difference's between say the L.E stock and the crane stock but are there and what are the practical/tactical difference between then, ive also spotted quite a number of other stocks and the main one im wondering about i now cant find a pic of it and as i dont know the name of it im having a hard time tracking it down.
the one in question looks like it is comprised of numourus pieces (if that makes any sence) pic to show the differences would be great but not essencial.

many thanks

brad

sorry forgot to add the other pics and now it wont let me

Check out Militarymorons, he has a good review and pics of different M4/AR-15 stocks. The LMT SOPMOD butt stock is the way to go. Is the stock you're asking about the VLOR modstock?

I like Magpul CTR stocks. The soon to be released UBR looks great too. I will install it on my SPR project.

the one i was asking about was the mss m93 do guys use it because of the extra length or are there any other benifits.
looking on militarymorons ive notice quite a number of stocks have battery compartments, now my first thought was for lights and aiming devices but the i thought they would have there own internal batteries any ideas as to why ?
bearing in mind i live in the UK and im neither military or L.E so have almost no experience with firarms so appoligiys ( for bad spelling) if this seems quite beginers type of question.

Basically the reason why people put different stocks on their rifles is because they chose to and they have the reason to.

Certain stocks will help give you a better cheek weld when in comparison to the conventional collapsible 6 position stock. I.E. the VLTOR stock or the addition of a CAA Stock Saddle

Others will house batteries which are essential when you have a weapon mounted light.

Others have different features that people require. Some have the ability to move the cheek piece up and down, which is a great feature on a SPR.

The duo-stock has the ability to be shouldered a lot more easily and is claimed to allow a more natural cheek weld when firing the weapon.

I totally agree with you, also to add, others just want the latest and greatest bestest super tacti-cool gear that e7ite ones are using. Is it life or death for them-not really. To each his/her own.
