View Full Version : Which State would you choose? (Americans Only)

05-09-2004, 05:11 PM
If you had to chose to live in any state in the US, other than the one you live in right now. Which state would you choose?

I would probably choose Florida. I'm from S. Cali so I need the sunshine :)

Good choices Jack, California is a dream, especially Southern California . The weather is near perfect all the time. And the babes are smokin hot. :D

Every city from Santa Barbara to San Diego is the best part of Cali (on the coast line)

You're funny, joe... ;) Iowa is very nice. It's been compared to Heaven, you know. :D

I liked where we lived in Kansas, and I still have a lot of friends there, so I'd consider going back. My grandma lives in Colorado, and I think it's a beautiful state, so that would be a possibility as well. If I wanted to stick close to home, I'd choose Missouri (only 5 miles away) or Illinois (only 30 miles away). I hear Washington state is pretty nice as well. I espouse Abraham Lincoln's philosophy on most things....

"People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Therefore, I think I could be happy anywhere... as long as I had people around that I cared about. :D

I am a Kentucky/Ohio man myself. Everything I need is here, friends, family, our family's farm.

If, HOWEVER, I had to choose a State to move too, it would be New Hampsire.

The most Libertarian of the 50 States. No Income Tax. Some of the most liberal gun ownership laws. A state motto of "Live Free or Die" and one of the only States in the Union to include a "right to revolution" in its Constitution.

With as much as government interferes in our lives its nice to know you can a find a place, that at a local level at least, whose government does not.

Kentucky is fairly close though. It is a commonwealth. It is a fairly Libertarian State with not much in the way of radical left or right ideology. My neighbors in the City of Covington, are of a "live and let live" sort of group. A gay couple across the street. Baptists on the corner and no one cares if I clean my rifles outside in the backyard on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

In the town where I was raised
The clock ticks and the cattle graze
Time passed with Amazing Grace
Back where I come from
Now you can lie on a riverbank
Paint your name on a water tank
Miscount all the beers you drank
Back where I come from

Back where I come from
Where I'll be when it's said and done
But I'm proud as anyone
That's where I come from

We learned in a sunny school
Who made the sun shine through
I know who made the moonshine too
Back where I come from
Blue eyes on a Saturday night
Tan legs in the broad daylight
TV's they were black and white
Back where I come from

Back where I come from
Where I'll be when it's said and done
But I'm proud as anyone
That's where I come from

Some say it's a backward place
Narrow minds on a narrow way
I make it a point to say
That's where I come from

That's where I come from
Where I'll be when it's said and done...

More restaurants than anything around here. The title of fattest city was conducted with this equation. number of restaurants per square mile + fitness gyms per square mile = how many gyms for every restaurant. Not very scientific, wouldnt you say?

I hated my first year of high school...I was shy and scared and just not used to the public school system. I had gone to a private school all my life, and it was a huge change. This year (sophomore) has been ok, although there's been so much work. It's worth it though, when I look at all the new friends I have, what I've learned, etc. It's a good learning experience. I'll definitely be sad when I have to leave, but I'm excited about college. :)
