Does anyone know of a spray or similar that one can use to impregnate the uniform.

*Provide some level of resistance to rain
*Must not discolor the uniform
*Must not be flameable once applied

I am glad I am not the only one who did that.

As for what you need use Nikwax. You just wash it into your clothes and gear either in a sink, a spray bottle or in the washing machine. That should result in the water beading off really well while not effecting the breathability. I used it on a number of clothing for as long as I remember and never had a discolouring, its not flamable, has no smell and doesn't effect the IR resistance ability.

Of course its not so easy to find in the US as it is the UK. I stocked up last time I went back to England.

I also use the nikwax wax paste to waterproof my boots for over 20 years and its never failed me yet. I love that stuff.

Thank you.
I found some Nikwax pretty cheap, I sure hope that it works, my uniform would do a better job as a rag then anything else at the moment.

read an article on sniper country some time ago about boiling a set of BDU's in water with an amount of parrifin mixed in, you'd have to experiment to get the proper part-to-part down but it the author said it worked for him better then the commercial stuff.
