Thought some of you may have interest in this.

Hello everyone…In mid-August, we will be updating our Firearms, Weapons and Knives Policy to place more restrictions around gun-related items. Once these changes take effect, we will prohibit listings of any firearm part that is required for the firing of a gun. This includes items like bullet tips, brass casings and shells, barrels, slides, cylinders, magazines, firing pins, trigger assemblies, etc. Please read the Firearms, Weapons and Knives Policy for more details on our current policy.

As you may know, eBay does not allow the listing of any items which are regulated by individual states or the federal government; however, there are still a large number of firearm-related parts that are legal and are widely available in retail stores. These items have also historically been allowed on eBay.

After learning that some items purchased on eBay may have been used in the tragedy at Virginia Tech in April 2007, we felt that revisiting our policies was not only necessary, but the right thing to do. After much consideration, the Trust & Safety policy team – along with our executive leaders at eBay Inc. – have made the decision to further restrict more of these items than federal and state regulations require.

This new update continues to encourage safety among our community members and brings our policies in the U.S. and Canada in closer alignment with our existing policies in other markets around the globe.

Sincerely,

Matt Halprin
Vice President, Trust & Safety

I wonder what "etc" means? They will probably stretch that to mean ANYTHING related to firearms..hell a sling might be covered, slings aid in accuracy, accurate shooting means deadly shooting, it's an aid for psychos to kill people, ban it!!

Gunbroker it is, then.

I stopped useing egay regularly when they banned selling guns on it.

I will have to find a better place to buy brass.

but of corse they still allow chemicals like ammonium nitrate and nitromethane to be sold...

I stopped shopping on Ebay a long time ago when I was enlightened to their outlook on firearms and the 2nd Amendment.

I had spent thousands of dollars through their site using Paypal the whole time, but I don't care or need to support any business with those kind of views.:fork:

I hope Ebay goes under one day soon and all it's executives die painful gruesome deaths of being beaten with bargain priced sporting equipment and fake brand name clothing items wrapped around scented soap bars.:)

Cheers,woot

theres a lot of speculation on other gun forums about what this change will do to the price/availability of brass. So anyone got opinions?

option 1: gunbroker and other gun auctions will be "flooded" (read having more, haha) with brass and reloading components driving down prices slightly on said sites due to the volume of competition present.

option 2: those selling the components on ebay will now horde their stockpiles causing the prices to infact rise due to a shrinking market.

option 3: this one is where you guys fill it in...

I hope this consolidates guns, parts, brass etc. to a small number of sites like gunbroker. That would make it easier to hunt for stuff. I also hope some of the vendors take all of their sporting goods to other sites and take some income away from ebay.

Spineless pussies...

I can still buy car parts and drug paraphernalia. Both have been responsible for single day death counts higher than the P22 magazines Cho purchased through a dealer that also used Ebay.

The lack of anything remotely resembling logic in these decisions amazes me.

Actually, liberal by definitions means the opposite, especially in a business management sense...which would be "open and without regulation".

He is being conservative and illogical, in the tradition use of both world.

He may be a lefty or a Liberal, if you want use useless political tags, but he certainly is not a "liberal" manager of a business.

One can be liberal AND logical AND pro-gun.

Though, he is being liberal by changing the policy, and about being liberal, logical, and pro-gun - well, I haven't seen any of those types yet, at least not in the form of influential decision makers. p-)

Best thing is not to use E bay. There are other online auction forums that does allow firearms to be transfered.

Choose who you will support. I would suggest supporting those who support you.
