Do you know anything about tank which can replace abrams??Russians are developing their t-95 and how can look US answer?I found some materials about it but there are only ideas, nothing more.About 1996 there were some projects about light, 20 ton vehicles.but after iraq I suppose that something was changed.Do you know anything more about that??

The abrams will be around for a while, tank design hasnt changed a whole lot in the last 40 years, just the internals have.

With upgrades of internals the abrams wont need to be replaced for a while, I think that the US will wait till there is something worth there while to upgrade too, remember that re-training tankers owuld cost allot of monty and throw away some of there training.

The abrams design at the moment is fine.
One thing though, with the current war on terror tanks are becoming less viable to use. Don't get me wrong, they have got great big guns which can prove vital on a battle field but Sf and the likes are becoming more widely used as the main weapon of the war. More emphasis needs to be and is being put on SF and the great jobs these dudes do. They are the ones who can go into caves looking for UBL and his cronies, a Abrams can't go in there.

oh,I suppose that russian t-95 is much more better even than abrams SEP and I just can't imagine that US doesn't want to answer. ;)

after all what about that 20 ton light vehicles??I don't like this idea,US still need heavy MBT on the battlefield.

I believe the 20 ton vehicle you are talking about may be the tank that was designed to be a MBT with the airborne boys.
