I've only been in a CH47 once so far and the bird was from the 160 SOAR. It was intense to say the least.

A revamped airframe designed for 10,000 flight hours also eliminates extraneous vibrations and maintenance time.
The crew chiefs always told me that the vibration is good as it lets you know the aircraft is still struggling against gravity. How are you supposed to tell the difference now between "normal operation" and "falling like a rock"?

Wonder if these new birds still leak hydraulic fluid like the old ones. I was always told never get on a chithook unless its leaking hydraulic fluid. That way you know theres some still in the system.

Pilots hand outside the window, and the yellowish colour of the choper give this photo a TAXI like feeling :-)

sweet..you know..they won't find a replacement for the 'Nook or the littlebird..they fill a niche role and when you have to take off and land in winds upwards of 40mph (god it was COLD too)..you want a Chinook..
