Question for anybody who might have some information.
What ships in the USN are nuclear powered?
Some (most? all?) carriers are nuclear powered, but what about cruisers, destroyers, et al ?
Is there any source that has this kind of info organized into an easy to read format?

The only nuke ships left are CVNs(Conventionally powered USS Kitty Hawk still active?) , SSNs, And SSBNs.. Use to have some nuclear powered cruisers: USS Truxton, USS Bainbridge, USS Long Beach, Virginia/California class cruisers(all decomissioned). Destroyers have been conventional steam or gas turbine.

There are the carrier USS Enterprise, the carriers of the Nimitz class, SSBN's(nuclear ballistic missile subs)of the Ohio class, SSN's (nuclear attack subs) of the Los Angeles, Seawolf, and Virgina classes, the nuclear research sub NR-1, four converted Ohio-class SSBN's, now called SSGN's (nuclear guided-missile subs) including the Ohio and the Michigan...and that's it for nuke ships att. Congress is supposedly looking at making the next-gen destroyer and cruiser classes nuke-driven, but the Navy is frankly not interested in nuke DD's. they're just not worth the trouble.
The Kitty Hawk and the Kennedy are still in commission. Kitty Hawk is currently completeing her last cruise. They are our last two non-nuke carriers.

The Kitty Hawk is due to be decomissioned sometime in late 2008.
Actually he Kennedys decomissioning cermony was held 23 March 2007. I served on the beloved JFK in 1972 & 73..
