I have not seen any pictures of troops in afghanistan with night desert camo(the green checkered pattern) I used to see it all the time in pictures from Desert Storm. Have they found out it does not work too well or what? Also speaking of camo does anybody have any info on the Usmc's experimental urban "T" pattern(not the Marpat)

Do you know of any websites that show it from DS? I haven't seen anything other than the normal stuff, even in older DS photos I ran across.

For those who wish a little more info on this camo:

One of the US' more interesting patterns is its night desert camo. The cross thatches and blotches supposedly break up the wearer's image when looked at through various night vision devices. CNN junkies during the Gulf War saw plenty of this stuff. The parka has a standard US detachable lining, while the pants are simply overpants with velcro enclosures. There are tie downs all over the parka, presumably to get it as tightly closed around the body as possible.

Here is a link to the relevant page (it includes a small graphic of the camo):

The graphic is near the end of the page.

If your talking about the 6 Colour Desert BDU aka "choc chip" BDU its OBSOLETE.

Read this: "Patches of uniform color in the desert are usually 10 times larger than those in wooded areas. These conditions led to the development of a three color pattern DBDU, which replaced the six color DBDU used in Desert Storm. The six color "chocalate chip" pattern will be authorized for wear until current stock is depleted and the uniforms becomes unserviceable"
