Even though I don't care for it myself, a good ol' Maine clam chowder would be at the top of my list. It's a tourist favourite, even Inland.

Tomato soup. Definitely. I've never tried Duck Blood soup, but I hear it's good. Honorable mentions include beet soup, mushroom soup, and borszch (sp?).

Dang, farmgirl, that soup nazi 5 o'clock shadow is really unbecoming on you. Stubble is really not your shade, ma'am! :P
My vote goes for a big, hot, steaming bowl of Vietnamese beef noodle soup, or "PHO". It is the shiznit, bar none. Easy on the Chilli, garcon.
A nice gazpacho is pleasant during the hotter summer months, as an alternative, providing it has a little bit of zest in it, as plain gazpacho tastes like salsa dip done poorly. (the voice of experience talking here! p-) )
Chicken noodle soup, whilst a very yummy concoction, is reserved for rainy days and bouts of influenza in my books. Had it too much as a kid....

Thai coconut soup.
No idea what its called, never lives long enough to tell me. I just run through the front door and jump in the tureen with a spice rack.
The Thais are a very forgiving people. I think they just assume all Americans are whacked. Probably right.
